Westport Credit Union is delighted to announce the launch of our brand-new mobile app on Friday 8 May.

This significant upgrade has been designed to enhance your everyday banking experience, giving members access to a faster, more secure and more intuitive platform.
With improved navigation, a cleaner interface and enhanced performance, the new app makes managing your finances simpler and more convenient than ever before.
Whether you’re checking your balance, transferring funds or keeping track of your transactions, everything is now easier to access and quicker to complete. The app has also been built with enhanced security features, ensuring your information remains safe while you bank on the go.
Our new app also features a streamlined loan application process — meaning applying for a loan has never been simpler.
How did the beef and dairy sectors compare in 2024?
The average loan application from a dairy farmer was €49,898 in comparison to €38,153 for a beef farmer. Dairy farmers were also bigger landowners, owning on average 46 HA of land in comparison to the 30 HA owned on average by beef farmers. Off-farm income continues to be a major factor for beef farmers as 88% of applicants had some form of off-farm income, compared to 55% of dairy farmers having off-farm income. The most common debt level for beef farmers was €133,427 (+18.5%) while dairy farmers were managing over one hundred thousand more than that, at €238,140 (+15%).
What You Need to Know
Ahead of the launch, here are the key details to be aware of:
- From the 8th May, the current Westport Credit Union app will cease to function and will no longer be available to download. We encourage all members to prepare for this transition.
- The new app will be available to download from both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. When searching, please ensure you are downloading the Westport Credit Union app, and not an app from another credit union.
- To log in, you will need your Member Number. We strongly recommend taking note of this in advance to ensure a smooth and hassle‑free setup.
Your Member Number is a six‑digit number and can be found:
- in the settings tab of your current app, or
- on your member book/card.
This upgrade represents an important step forward in how we support our members digitally, and we’re excited for you to experience the improvements.
