Student Bursary 2026
We know that 3rd level education can be a big financial burden on students and their families, so we want to help ease the financial strain.
We will be giving away 5 bursaries of €1,000 each to 5 students in our common bond to help fund their education.

Alternatively you can pick up a copy in any of our branches, fill it out and return it to us before the 30th of September 2026.
Who is eligible to apply?
Any member who is commencing or has already commenced their course. Applications are welcome from students of all ages.
When is the closing date for applications?
The closing date for applications is the 30th of September 2026.
Terms & Conditions
- Applicants must be members of Westport Credit Union.
- Applicants must complete the official Student Bursary application form.
- Applications will be accepted from students who are commencing or have already commenced a third-level course.
- The Credit Union will only accept applications for full-time courses of at least two years' duration.
- Only one application per student is permitted.
- Payment of the bursary will be made on condition that the winning student has been accepted on an eligible course and proof of acceptance may be required.
- Five bursaries of €1,000 each will be awarded.
- Students who have previously been awarded a Westport Credit Union Student Bursary are not eligible to enter.
- The bursary will be paid directly to the winning student by electronic transfer or cheque, at the discretion of Westport Credit Union.
- Closing date for applications is 30th September 2026.
- Payment of the bursaries will be made by 31st October 2026.
- The names of the winning students may be made public by Westport Credit Union.
- The draw will be overseen by an independent observer.
- By entering the Student Bursary Draw, winners agree to participate in reasonable promotional activities organised by Westport Credit Union, including photographs, videos, social media and press coverage relating to the bursary scheme.
- The decision of the Board of Directors of Westport Credit Union will be final on all matters relating to the Student Bursary Draw.
- The Board of Directors of Westport Credit Union reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at its discretion without prior notice.
- Entry into the Student Bursary Draw constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
