Community is at the heart of Westport Credit Union's mission statement. As such we have established our Community fund to assist local groups, clubs and societies.

Applications Now Closed For 2026

Thank you to all clubs, groups and organisations who submitted applications for the Westport Credit Union Community Fund 2026.

The application period has now closed and we are delighted with the fantastic response from communities across Westport, Newport, Louisburgh and the surrounding areas.

Our Community Fund continues to support projects and initiatives that make a positive difference across our common bond, with €100,000 available for community investment in 2026.

Impact of the Community Fund over the Past Two Years

In 2024 and 2025, the Westport Credit Union Community Fund supported 56 projects across a wide range of local clubs, groups and organisations within our common bond. Funding helped deliver projects that made a real difference in communities, supporting inclusion, development and community wellbeing across the area.

Who Can Apply?

Applications are open to clubs, community groups and organisations operating within Westport Credit Union’s common bond of Westport, Newport, Louisburgh and the surrounding areas.

A Community Fund initiative that truly saved a life. John survived because a locally‑available AED (funded by Westport Credit Union) was there when it mattered most.

The Friday Afternoon Club in Mulranny is a simple but powerful space where people come together each week for company, conversation and friendship. Supported through our Community Fund, this project helps tackle isolation and build meaningful connections.
