Our Student Bursary is back open for 2025!
We know that 3rd level education can be a big financial burden on students and their families, so we want to help ease the financial strain.
We will be giving away 5 bursaries of €1,000 each to 5 students in our common bond to help fund their education.
How to Enter?

Alternatively you can pick up a copy in any of our branches, fill it out and return it to us before the 30th of September.
Who is eligible to apply?
Any member who is commencing or has already commenced their course. Applications are welcome from students of all ages.
When is the closing date for applications?
The closing date for applications is the 30th of September 2025.
Terms & Conditions
- Applicant must be a member of Westport Credit Union and have a Westport Credit Union personal current account and debit card.
- Applicants must complete an application form.
- Applications will be considered from students who are commencing or have already commenced their course.
- The Credit Union will only accept applications for full time courses of at least two years duration.
- Only one application per student is permitted.
- Members who draw down a student loan between 1st August 2025 and 30th September will automatically be entered into the draw.
- Payment of the bursary will be made on condition that the winning student has been accepted on an eligible course and proof of acceptance will be required.
- Those awarded a Bursary will not be eligible to enter in subsequent years
- The bursary will be lodged into the winning students current account in the Credit union
- Closing date for applications is 30th September 2025.
- Payment of the Bursary will be made by 31st October 2025.
- The names of the winning students will be made public
- The draw will be overseen by an independent observer.
- In applying for the Bursary Draw, the winner is agreeing to participate in promotional activities such as photo opportunities or videos arranged by Westport Credit Union. The winner is also agreeing to their name and photograph as the winner of the Bursary being used across Westport Credit Union’s social media and press media outlets
- The decision of the Board of Directors of Westport Credit Union will be final on all matters relating to this Bursary draw.
- The Board of Directors of Westport Credit Union reserves the right to alter any of these terms and conditions at its sole discretion without prior notice.
